POLICIES

Beaumont Skating Club reserves the right to make changes to these policies in accordance to the Executive and Skate Canada Policy & Procedures.

EFFECTIVE August 15, 2011 JR & SR StarSkaters ONLY

We are asking for our JR & SR parents to assist our Coaches this year by helping out with playing of music during skating times.  This is new for our club so we are asking our parents to help out. We are finding that Coaches are using up valuable coaching time to change music. If you see that the Coaches need assistance, please go around to the Coaches Box and the Coaches will explain what they need.

We are not asking for any volunteer cheques or creating a schedule at this time however if we find that the Coaches are struggling or it is only the same one or two parents helping out we will have to consider a schedule and/or music cheque in the future.  We would greatly appreciate your assistance.

EFFECTIVE July 1, 2011

ALL SKATERS in the CanSkate and Learn to Skate Programs must wear a CSA appoved Hockey Helmet.  This will be strictly enforced.  No other helmets will be allowed on the ice.  Please see the included Helmet Policy as per Skate Canada.

Learn To Skate - Parents/Guardians On Ice Policy

Effective August 30, 2010 the following policy for allowing parents on the ice with Learn To Skaters is being implemented:

Due to liability issues, please be advised that if you are considering going on the ice with your child during their lesson, the following will occur:

     1. The Club will only allow parents on ice for the first two lessons;

     2. The Parent/Guardian must be wearing skates - NO street shoes will be allowed; and

     3.  Parents/Guardians MUST wear a helmet.

Overall, it is the experience of the Coaches that having parents on the ice tends to keep some children from fully engaging in the class.  However we appreciate that for some parents and children that this initial interaction is beneficial.
